French country design, Monet style – Kim

Today was the day to go rural if not restful. We started with Monet’s home and gardens in Giverny, Normandy. He spent the last 40+ years of his life there with his wife and 8(!) combined kids.

The house is pink and green. Eat your heart out, Lilly Pulitzer.

For anyone from my kitchen design days, this is real French country design.

Copper pots and blue and white porcelain tile backsplash.

Possibly a LaCornue range, definitely a French top and pot filler faucet.

Encaustic cement tiles in the foyer.

Monet’s in-home studio.

A floral bedroom.

Window detail of a home in the nearby village.
